A First Caracol
Having lived in Cavite City all my life, it's surprising that this was my first time participating in a Caracol. My previous encounters with religious festivities were mostly limited to attending church masses, so experiencing the celebration along the streets offered an entirely different perspective.
I found it fascinating to see devotees walking along the procession route, the colorful and intricately designed dresses of the dancers, and the different ways people expressed their devotion. Beyond the religious aspect, there was something beautiful about seeing the community come together in celebration.
It was an experience that made me appreciate a tradition I had long been familiar with but never really experienced firsthand. In fact, it left me considering attending the Feast of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo someday.
