Pyromusical

I photographed the 2025 Pyromusical at Mall of Asia as an opportunity to try a new setup. I had previously photographed fireworks in Japan using only a kit lens, so this time I wanted to see what I could do with a new lens and a more capable tripod.

Because the fireworks were synchronized with music, I could anticipate some of the larger bursts and time my shots accordingly. Some frames were carefully timed, while others were simply a matter of letting the moment happen.

What I enjoyed most was seeing the structure and colors that appeared as different fireworks overlapped. During the climax, I eventually stopped worrying about getting the perfect shot and simply watched the show, sometimes leaving the shutter on auto and enjoying the moment.

This series is simply a collection of the photographs I liked most from that night.
